FAQs

  • CPP program is designed primarily for students and practitioners in the field of the performing arts (actors, dancers, performers, directors, choreographers, writers, etc), or anyone interested in broadening their practical knowledge in the field of contemporary performance. While we will be able to accommodate participants at various levels, the faculty expects a reasonable level of familiarity with the field, the areas of performing and physical training, as well as a high level of commitment and discipline to the work at hand.

  • Most people wear lightweight clothing they'd work out in. Others wear leotards, fitted t-shirts, and leggings, or dance wear. Both are beneficial and appropriate so long as they aren't too baggy to be in the way of movement. Workshops will be taught and taken barefoot in the studios. Individual instructors might have specific requirements - if so, these will be communicated to you well in advance of the first class.

  • We expect to accept approximately 16 participants into this year's program, but the exact number will depend on the volume of received applications and the number of qualified applicants.

  • The two-week intensive costs 1,450 Euros*.

Tuition will cover intensive classes held on Mondays to Saturdays each week.

  • No, admitted applicants are responsible for securing their own travel and housing arrangements. In the past, many participants found housing on Airbnb and similar platforms, some stayed in hostels, etc. Some program participants found shared housing where they were able to stay together.

These are just some of the options - you are welcome to explore others. We do recommend that you seek housing as soon as you are able, as Dubrovnik is a major tourist destination in Croatia, and July is peak season period. In some cases, our local partners may be able to advise or offer guidance in terms of housing -- if needed, reach out to us via email.

DOur local partners informed us that a brand new university housing complex, Akademis, has recently opened within Dubrovnik’s urban core, offering comfortable and affordable accommodations to visitors during summer months when the university is not in session. Visit this link to view further detail, or contact them via email.

  • Make sure you have a valid passport. US/Canada citizens as well as EU citizens do not require visas - if you are traveling from other areas, please research visa requirements for Croatia from your country of origin well in advance of your planned arrival to Croatia. CPP is not able to advise on immigration matters.

  • Dubrovnik is a renowned travel destination for visitor worldwide, and there is a great deal information about the city and everything it has to offer available online. The official page for the Dubrovnik Tourist Board is a good place to start.

  • Currently, mask mandate for indoor activities has been lifted in Croatia. As before, we will monitor the guidance from the governmental health authorities, and let you know if there is a change in the current posture.

If you are a university student, you may want to speak with your program director or academic advisor to learn about any grants or scholarships for international study and/or travel that may be available at your school. Also, many countries have exchange grants available via cultural ministries or local arts councils for professional development or study abroad, so you may wish to research that as well.

Here are some suggestions that have been passed on to us by our partners:

_For European artists: you are eligible to apply for travel grants through Culture Moves Europe - click on the link to get more information.

_For artists from Canada: you may wish to pursue a travel grant from Canada Council for the Arts / Conseil des arts du Canada. Additionally for the residents of the province of Quebec, you may apply for support through LOJIQ.

  • We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. We will be accepting and reviewing applications until May 20, 2024. However, because we are accepting qualified applicants on a first-come, first-served basis, we may run out of available spots for the workshop before the final deadline. Therefore, if you are interested in attending, we recommend that you apply sooner rather than later. You will receive a response within 2 weeks of applying, and if you are accepted, we will ask that you remit a non-refundable deposit of 500 USD if in the US/Canada (500 EURO if abroad) in order to guarantee a spot for the workshop. The remaining balance will be due within 30 days of acceptance or May 31 at the latest.
